UCT Business School
Adapting to New Needs Post-COVID
The UCT Graduate School of Business (GSB) at 61 Katherine enlisted Trend Group to redefine their Sandton satellite office in response to the changing landscape following the COVID-19 pandemic. As a hub for customized executive education programmes and short courses aimed at nurturing African business leaders, the campus needed to adapt its environment to facilitate enhanced learning and collaboration.

Creating Collaborative Spaces for Learning and Engagement
The brief was to reconfigure the existing layout to create more spaces for students to work, engage, and conduct online meetings. Recognising the need for flexibility in today’s educational settings, our design aimed to cultivate an atmosphere that encourages collaboration while also supporting individual study requirements.
Introducing Multifunctional Furniture Solutions
Recognizing that the previous furniture setup was primarily lounge-oriented, Trend proposed an agile approach to furnishings that prioritised multifunctionality. The new design integrates versatile furniture solutions suitable for both individual and group activities, ensuring that the space can adapt to various work modalities. This shift not only enhances the overall functionality of the office but also encourages a dynamic learning environment.
