Transpharm

Modern New Workspace for Logistics Company

Johannesburg

Trend Group delivered a full turnkey interior design and commercial office fit out for Tranpharm’s modern logistics headquarters. Our team provided strategic workspace planning, detailed space planning for commercial office interiors, and complete project delivery across both warehouse offices and the main HQ. This project reflects our expertise in office interior design, corporate office layout planning, and creating high-performing, people-focused environments within industrial settings.

This project formed part of a new-build development comprising a large warehouse with an attached head office in Centurion, Johannesburg. Trend Group was appointed to deliver the design and build of both the main HQ offices and the offices located within the warehouse facility.

A practical and operationally focused brief needed to consider a diverse staff complement across the business. Along with the usual offices and boardrooms, dedicated training areas also needed to be included to support call centre staff. An upgrade to the client’s previous offices, this workplace addressed previous issues around lighting, ergonomics, and functionality – overall, delivering a more modern and efficient working environment.

Warm and Practical

The design responded to the warehouse context to create a comfortable and welcoming workplace. Warmer tones, considered finishes, and softer touchpoints were introduced to balance the industrial nature of the building and support a positive staff experience. Material selections focused on durability with visual warmth. Feature walls were finished with a trowelled plaster application to introduce texture, while printed timber textures were applied to PET panels as a practical and visually engaging solution, while offering acoustic benefits.

Black aluminium window detailing was used in places to align with the building’s architectural language. Elements of Transpharm’s brand heritage were also subtly incorporated, including an original company sign displayed in the canteen. A patterned feature wall in one of the boardrooms expresses the brand’s colours. Trend Group worked closely with the client and consultant team, including the architect, during an extended pre-construction phase to align the interior environment with Transpharm’s operational requirements.

The interior fit-out was completed over an eight-week programme, with close coordination required due to some overlapping works on site. Minor programme and certification delays were managed through careful sequencing and ongoing collaboration, ensuring momentum was maintained through a flexible and responsive delivery approach. Ultimately, the project was delivered on time and within the agreed parameters. While not driven by a formal sustainability brief, the project benefited from Trend Group’s supplier network, where environmental compliance requirements are increasingly standard practice.

People-focused Spaces

The response from both the client and their employees for this final fit-out has been extremely positive. This project is significant within Trend Group’s portfolio as it showcases the team’s ability to deliver high-performing, people-focused workplaces within industrial and logistics environments. By entrusting Trend Group with all office environments across the site, from warehouse offices to the main HQ, the client reinforced Trend Group’s capability to deliver complex, end-to-end design and build projects.
