Google

Johannesburg / Bryanston

Trend was awarded the principal contract for the implementation of Googles offices in Johannesburg. They wanted an office for their staff that reflected the context of their space.

As per Google’s stringent requirements, the office was designed for high levels of acoustic comfort to facilitate a uniquely South African, productive, comfortable and creative workspace. The Google Jozi project boasts an accreditation of both a 5-star Green Star rating as well as a Gold Leed certification.

Google ensures their staff are very well looked after, bringing the idea of all lifes nice to haves to the workplace. These include a gym, a mothers room, a games room and a canteen (with their own chef for breakfast and lunch).

Many of the design elements in the space were extremely detailed so paying close attention to them was imperative to the overall design.

The look and feel of the space designed by Boogertman architects was a combination of traditional African inspired elements as well as non-traditional materials made for an ethical and cool space at the same time.
