Creating a Collaborative Environment
Collaboration is key to SRK Consulting’s success, and the office design reflects this with open-plan areas and collaborative spaces. These areas are designed by Trend Group to encourage teamwork and communication.
Mining for Inspiration
SRK Consulting required a contemporary office layout that maximized natural light and offered a larger breakaway space to accommodate both clients and staff. The objective was to create an environment that reflected the raw and industrial aesthetics of the mining industry while enhancing usability and comfort.
Crafting the Vision
To address the client’s needs, Trend Group proposed several strategic design changes. This architectural adjustments not only brightened the office but also provided a more open and inviting atmosphere.
A work lounge-inspired coffee bar area was introduced to offer a casual yet functional space for informal meetings and breaks. The boardroom was rotated to open up the office entrance, optimizing the layout and flow of the space.
The flooring was chosen to reflect the mineral soil and natural textures, paying homage to the mining industry. Realistic feature walls adorned with mining imagery connected clients to SRK’s brand identity, making the office environment more engaging and visually appealing.
Innovative Features: Standout Design Elements
The standout feature of the design was the client and staff coffee bar area, which created an illusion of a higher square meter rate and evoked the feel of a café. The reception desk, crafted with an organic curve and multiple layers, symbolized the landscape of a mining hole, adding a unique touch to the space.
