SOMABAY
A Distinctive New HeadquartersCairo
When Trend Group worked on SOMABAY’s headquarters, the brief was to create a workspace that reflected the brand’s premium position in the luxury resort sector. The design focused on elevating the existing environment through considered materials, bespoke detailing and more adaptable spaces, including areas that could accommodate visiting team members.
A Refined, Flexible Workplace
The interior concept takes cues from SOMABAY’s position as a globally minded brand rooted in Egypt. The design introduces a richer, more sophisticated material palette, combining deep timber tones, layered textures and restrained green accents with subtle metallic details to create a sense of depth and refinement. The spatial strategy introduced a variety of settings for different forms of interaction. Formal meeting rooms sit alongside more relaxed collaboration areas, while the reception was reimagined and a multi-purpose space extended to support team presentations and gatherings.

Bespoke elements add further character throughout the workplace. Custom joinery was incorporated into the boardroom and canteen, while a distinctive curved seating installation, developed in response to SOMABAY’s brand language, creates an informal hub for collaboration. Material choices were equally considered, pairing durable flooring with softer finishes to introduce warmth, visual contrast and greater acoustic comfort.
Detail-Driven Delivery
Delivering the refurbishment within a live office environment required detailed planning and careful control of the construction programme. Works were strategically phased to maintain business continuity, with temporary partitioning and after-hours activity helping to minimise disruption. Through proactive project management, detailed scheduling and ongoing supplier collaboration, Trend Group was able to complete the works on programme.

The result is a refined and adaptable headquarters designed around both the SOMABAY brand and the day-to-day needs of the space. The project demonstrates Trend Group’s ability to combine considered workplace design, bespoke detailing and disciplined project delivery to create high-quality commercial environments in the Middle East region.
