Global Standards
Trend Group delivered a fully integrated design and build solution for a tech cyber security client in Midrand, resulting in a modern and functional workspace that aligns with global brand standards. The space takes inspiration from their other office spaces around the world, while optimising the available space for maximum functionality. It was key that this office incorporated a divisible meeting room, collaboration zones, a kitchenette, phone booths, and a general manager office.
Design and Build Approach
The design concept combined a clean, tech-inspired aesthetic with warm, welcoming elements, using the signature brand green across carpets, desk screens, and seating. Complementing this is light blonde timber finishes and warm lighting, while acoustic treatments ensured privacy for sensitive discussions in this cyber-focused environment. Mobile furniture provided flexibility, and bespoke graphic elements, including client-specified vinyl artwork, reinforce the brand identity throughout the office.
The project was not without its challenges, but these were resolved through close collaboration with all stakeholders. With the client based remotely, a clear and streamlined finishes sign-off process helped everyone stayed aligned throughout the build. Trend Group also took care to fully understand the server room’s power needs, ensuring the supporting infrastructure was appropriate for the cybersecurity needs.
Functional Details
Standout features include a trophy wall at reception, combining timber, glass, and LED lighting for a striking visual impact, and a main meeting room that can be subdivided without compromising acoustic performance. Slat screens, soft seating, and high counter areas enhance collaboration, while the non-traditional reception functions as a comfortable waiting area.
