Nokia
Client Vision Meets Creative Excellence
Nokia, a leader in telecommunications, aimed to establish a workspace in Midrand that is flexible, adaptive, and reflective of its global brand while embracing the unique African context of its location. Trend Group was entrusted with the design and build of 1200 sqm office space.
Scandinavia Meets Africa: A Design Inspired by Nature
The design concept merges Scandinavian minimalism with modern African aesthetics. This blend is epitomized by the use of triangular motifs—a visual language of Private Tech Client—reimagined with an African twist. Handmade woven pendant lights and lush greenery bring warmth and texture, transforming the office into a vibrant yet professional environment.

Crafting Unique Spaces: The Triangle as a Central Theme
The triangle motif, echoing Nokia’s brand, plays a pivotal role throughout the space. In the reception area, the triangles create a floating effect, seamlessly transitioning from the wall to the ceiling, symbolizing a digital narrative in a tactile form. This design element not only reinforces Nokia’s identity but also adds a dynamic, modern edge to the workspace.
Seamless Integration of Biophilia and Technology
The office design incorporates biophilic elements with green walls and strategically placed plants, fostering a connection with nature that enhances employee well-being. Paired with acoustic panels and baffles, these features ensure that the space is as functional as it is beautiful, promoting a calm and productive work environment.

Achieving Success and Conquering Obstacles
The primary challenge was to create a space that reflects Nokia’s global brand while being true to its local context. Through meticulous planning and regular client feedback, Trend Group delivered a workspace that is both innovative and culturally resonant.
A Space That Inspires
The Nokia office in Midrand is a showcase of Trend Group’s ability to blend form, function, and brand identity into a cohesive and inspiring environment. This project is a perfect example of how thoughtful design can reflect a company’s ethos while creating a space that employees love.
