Luxury through considered design
Creating a luxury workplace does not always require all high-end finishes. For Lionhead Capital, Trend Group was transformed a compact footprint into a sophisticated and distinctive workplace while carefully managing costs. The design combined a dark, contemporary Scandinavian influence with the industrial character of the existing double-volume building. Lionhead’s earthy brand palette of deep green, brass, brown and black informed the interior, creating a subtle connection to the company’s identity and its relationship with the mining sector.
Considered material choices
A considered value-engineering approach helped achieve a high-end finish. Investment was focused on the elements with the greatest visual and experiential impact, including lighting, fluted glass and key feature surfaces such as the stone top of the coffee station in the brand green. Elsewhere, smart material choices delivered the desired aesthetic, including the use of veneer where appropriate. Existing furniture was repurposed, while the kitchen was refreshed rather than completely rebuilt, reducing waste.
Designed with character
The building’s industrial character, double-volume space and exposed beams were integrated into the overall design, complemented by Lionhead Capital’s existing vintage and characterful furniture. Design Colab delivered the FF&E, carefully introducing contemporary pieces alongside these existing items, with darker finishes, durable surfaces and timeless styles creating a cohesive look. Select solid wood, marble pieces and leather finishes added touches of luxury, ergonomic workstations support everyday functionality.
