Trend was appointed to be the main contractor and to implement Boogertman & Partners wacky design for insurance the company King Price.

The focus was on creating a fun, funky spaces for their employees. The design has as a mix of proper 1960s pop art and a modern industrial feel.

The designers decided to create mini routes where employees can follow the black ‘pathways’ between the office spaces and breakout areas. The majority of the floor is timber vinyl, with the kitchen areas being red with black infills.

To create a balance between the bold, vibrant, colourful design of the existing office and the cool chic look of the new executive loft area, Boogertman brought in an industrial vintage feel punctuated by fun playful elements. Lego bricks made up a bright and colourful workbench, while walkways were replaced with resin racetracks, which staff zipped around on hoverboards.

As you enter the building you are faced with a huge glass box that leads you to a giant crown light installation. The office areas are filled with lots of greenery, contemporary lighting, and ‘reverse graffiti’ on the walls, where we chipped the art into the walls for a unique effect.

The interior was designed to have a breakout space and a kitchenette (on every wing) on every floor. Extra space had to be opened up for pool tables, foosball and other activities for the staff to use. The level included a large entertainment area with bar, coffee shop and open-air firepit.
