High-Performance Office Fit-Out

Trend Group handled the Build for Electrum Software’s new office fit-out, with Paragon and Lei Lester leading the design. This extension transformed a grey box space into a vibrant, high-performance workplace integrated with their existing office. The project combines bold, brand-led design with functional, hybrid-ready workspaces, and upgraded café areas. Completed within a fast-tracked programme in a live environment, the project showcases Trend Group’s ability to deliver complex, time-sensitive office fit-outs with precision and agility.

When Electrum Software expanded into a new office space at Riverlands Mall in Observatory to accommodate a growing team, the brief was to take a grey box environment and transform it into a high-performing workplace – while seamlessly integrating with their existing office on the same floor.

Working alongside Paragon Architects and Lei Lester interior designers, the project focused on delivering a vibrant, people-centric workspace that balances energy, functionality, and everyday comfort. In addition to the new office area, the scope included a full upgrade of the existing work café, introducing new finishes, layouts, and ceiling interventions to elevate the shared environment.

Appointed to deliver the full build, the project required tight coordination, a fast-tracked programme, and careful execution within a live environment, as Electrum prepared to welcome new staff.

A Playful, Brand-Led Workplace

The design of this office reflects a bold, expressive identity, with colour blocking helping to define zones and create visual interest.
From the moment of arrival, a curved, slatted timber reception desk is complemented by layered lighting, planters and modular reception seating.
An exposed services ceiling forms the industrial backdrop to the space, which is balanced by tactile layers including timber finishes.
The reimagined café complete with a variety of seating and a ping pong table acts as a central hub to encourage informal interaction throughout the day. A mix of open-plan workstations, semi-private offices, and meeting rooms supports a variety of working styles.

Working Within a Live Environment

One of the defining aspects of the project was its delivery within a live environment, which required a high level of agility from the project team. With Electrum’s team operating on-site throughout construction, careful planning and phased execution were critical.

Working closely with landlord-appointed contractors, Trend Group was able to rework the construction sequence in real time to accommodate unforeseen equipment alterations to the HVAC system. By adapting the programme and pushing certain to later phases, the team was able to keep progress on track. In this way, the team was able to maintain momentum and complete the project on time, demonstrating a flexible and solutions-driven delivery style.
