Trend Group designed a creative and industrial workspace for Brooklyn Studios, a dynamic film production company. The office embraces a raw, industrial aesthetic with exposed brick, concrete floors, and custom steel and timber elements. The layout is open and flexible, designed to support the collaborative and project-based nature of film production. The space includes edit suites, a screening room, production offices, and a central social hub that doubles as an informal meeting and event space. This is a workspace built for creativity and storytelling.

Introducing Brooklyn Studios, the latest addition to Growthpoint’s Thrive Student Living, just 75 metres from the University of Pretoria. This premium accommodation caters to the diverse needs of both first-year and senior students, offering an accessible, dynamic environment for a vibrant living experience.
Innovative Design Solutions
Growthpoint appointed Helena to rejuvenate Brooklyn Studios with a design that strikes a balance between fun and maturity. By integrating vibrant colours and engaging features, she exceeded the government gazette standards for student accommodation. Helena’s design approach focused on multifunctional spaces that support both learning and social interaction, fostering an inclusive community.
Spaces that Inspire Interaction
Whimsical design elements are central to the Brooklyn Studios experience. The bright yellow bath serves as an “Instagram-worthy” focal point, while motivational quotes throughout the building inspire residents. The green room offers a calming retreat, and the bean bag room provides a versatile space for movie nights or educational presentations, accommodating different lifestyles.

The Brooklyn Studios lobby is designed to create an unforgettable first impression, featuring stunning waterfall lighting and a faceted façade that embodies modern sophistication. This striking entrance leaves a lasting impact on students from the moment they arrive.
