A Distinctive Identity for an Energy Tech LeaderJohannesburg
For Baker Hughes, a global energy technology company, Trend Group designed and fitted out a new office and warehouse facility that establishes a distinct brand identity following their separation from General Electric. The office space is modern and collaborative, while the warehouse is optimized for operations with high-performance epoxy flooring, cranes, testing bays, and workshop facilities. This comprehensive project showcases our expertise in delivering integrated office and industrial solutions that embody a brand’s innovative spirit.
A Strategic Separation from General Electric
Baker Hughes General Electric (BHGE) faced a pivotal moment as it transitioned away from General Electric, seeking to establish a distinct identity in its new office and warehouse facility in Midrand. To bring this vision to life, Trend Group was appointed to lead the design and fit-out, ensuring that both the office and warehouse components embodied the brand’s innovative spirit.
Fit-Out Expertise for Warehouse Operations
Trend Group played a vital role in the fit-out of the warehouse, focusing on key installations and enhancements that would optimise operations. Our team facilitated the painting of the warehouse and laid down high-performance epoxy flooring, ensuring durability and functionality. Additionally, we installed a 5-ton and a 2-ton crane, testing bays, spray booths, workshop change rooms, and ablutions, all while incorporating a dedicated canteen area for warehouse staff. This comprehensive approach ensures that the facility meets the operational needs of BHGE efficiently.

Modernising Office Infrastructure for Enhanced Productivity
With the existing office infrastructure being significantly dated, Trend Group was tasked with upgrading essential services and creating a modern workspace tailored for office-based staff. By incorporating contemporary design elements, we transformed the environment into a vibrant hub that promotes collaboration and productivity among employees.
Maintaining Industrial Aesthetics with a Bold Twist
Throughout the design process, we maintained the building’s industrial aesthetic while introducing colour blocking to various areas, infusing energy, and dynamism into the spaces. This design choice not only enhances visual interest but also delineates functional areas, cultivating an atmosphere that encourages collaboration and engagement.
