Trend Group delivered a turnkey fit-out solution for HVAC and appliance distributor Fourways Group, transforming a warehouse into a multi-functional workspace. Seamlessly integrating offices, product showroom, and technical training within a single, cohesive facility, this project demonstrates Trend Group’s expertise in space planning and commercial fit-outs.
When HVAC and appliance distributor, Fourways Group, required a new Cape Town facility, they appointed Trend Group to deliver a design and build solution. The brief was to deliver a multi-functional space within a 3,010sqm warehouse that could seamlessly accommodate offices, product display, client engagement, and technical training.
Working within a larger industrial shell, the project requirement needed to house both operational and client-facing environments. Our team delivered a workspace that could perform across its various functions, balancing practicality with a considered layout and aesthetic.
A Multi-purpose Space
As part of the client brief to showcase their offering, the design deliberately brings HVAC systems and building services to the forefront rather than concealing them. Exposed services, coordinated soffits, and carefully detailed bulkheads became defining features of the space, turning typically hidden infrastructure into a central component. This approach allows their clients to experience products in situ, from residential applications through to large-scale industrial systems.
The showroom and office environments are closely integrated, with each area demonstrating different uses of Fourways Group’s product range. This extends into a dedicated training facility, where installations are designed not only for display but for hands-on learning, enabling systems to be used as teaching tools where needed. A custom graphic installation in the training room, inspired by technical drawings, reinforces the engineering focus of the business while adding a distinctive visual layer. The materiality complements the industrial context – with polished aggregate concrete flooring, timber-look joinery, and brass-accented finishes offering a balanced palette.
Quality Workspace Delivery
Delivered within a live construction environment, Trend Group worked in close coordination with the base-build contractor responsible for the warehouse structure. Careful planning and collaboration ensured alignment across multiple teams, enabling the project to be completed efficiently and to programme.
The result is a highly functional, layered environment that goes beyond a traditional office or showroom.
