Office fit-out for a global law firm
Trend was appointed for the implementation of a 1 750sqm office fit-out for the global law firm Pinsent Masons, located in Rosebank, Johannesburg. Designed by Paragon Interface, the scheme reflects the client’s global brand while bringing in subtle touches of South African character through local art, furniture and finishes.
Agile and Flexible Office Space
The space is built around the principles of agile working. Open-plan, bookable desks, collaborative zones and pause areas are positioned around the perimeter, taking full advantage of the panoramic views, while focus rooms, enclosed booths and service spaces are grouped around the building core. The result is a balanced environment that encourages flexibility without compromising on the privacy or acoustic control essential for confidential work.
A feature mural by local artist “I Do” brings colour and energy into the pause area, while African-inspired textures and tones are woven into rugs, wallpapers and artworks across the space. The use of timber in items such as panelling, flooring and furniture adds warmth to the otherwise pared-back corporate aesthetic and muted colour scheme.
Strong Design and Build Collaboraton
Part of Trend Group’s scope included the installation of JEB Summit and X-Series shopfront systems, including operable walls and all internal partitioning. Design CoLab supplied and sourced all furniture, which is locally made. Despite working on a tight programme, the team delivered the project efficiently and to a high standard, thanks to strong collaboration across the design and implementation teams and a smooth decision-making process with the client.
A Green Star SA certification for the project is currently underway.
