Trend was awarded the implementation and construction of the Facebook headquarters for Africa in Johannesburg. The social network platform was ready to be established in Africa with over a billion people on the continent using the site.
Facebook had an international fit out guideline that we needed to stick to with specific attention to acoustics, furniture and security.
The design, done by Boogertman Architects was very industrial and modern, bringing in African prints and textures into the finishes representing local influence. The design incorporated some eye-catching features such as the map of Africa which stretches across two story’s and has a coloured cord which displays the connection points from all over Africa to the rest of the world.
